The Private Collection
Audio-tour, The British Library, London, 21', 2006
The Private Collection is an alternative audio-tour of the British Library at St. Pancras in London. The project aims to change the way people relate to the space, and heighten their sensitivity.
As visitors navigate the library they listen to a soundtrack and become part of a narrative.
The sounds are recorded in binaural audio. When played back through headphones in that location, it is impossible to tell if sounds are real or recorded, resulting in a state of increased awareness.
